Klaus slyly moved closer to Andrew and maintained eye contact. Andrew could see the sudden movement Klaus made as he placed his hand near to his pocket. Klaus's black hair was slicked back and revealed his nearly snake like features. He moved slowly and rocked on his feet back and forth, he reminded Andrew of a cobra about to strike. "They serve you no purpose, Andrew, just hand them over to us." Klaus said in nearly a hiss. He flashed a smile to Andrew, a smile he knew too well. It was the same smile he used when telling Andrew that they would work together and defeat The Faction. The same smile he used when he told Andrew he'd never turn on him. That was back when Andrew thought he could trust him, when he could trust anyone. But those times flashed by as quickly as the deceptive glimmer in Klaus's eyes.
"Why should I let you take them? All you're going to do is torture them like the others." Andrew snapped back. Andrews eye caught Klaus's movement as he shoved his hand in his pocket. Andrew did the same and felt the cool, smooth handle of a knife against his rough hand. Klaus slowly circled around Andrew again, his green eyes fixed on the dry tuff of grass by Andrews feet.
"If you would have just followed me like you always did before, we wouldn't be in this mess." Klaus said in an apologetic tone. He drew out the knife from his pocket, the sun reflected off the clean blade for a moment and shone past Andrews eyes. Klaus circled again, and Andrew alternated between watching Klaus's foot work and eyes. Andrew was suddenly blinded by a cloud of dust, it was chalky and filled his lungs. As he coughed and rubbed the scratchy substance from his eyes he felt a sharp pain in his leg, and fell hard to the dry ground. The dust clouded around him again while he stumbled back up on his feet. He looked down to his right leg and saw Klaus's thin knife sticking out from a mess of torn flesh and bright blood. As the dust cleared he scanned the dry land around him, scattered in thirsty dying trees. He couldn't see any sign of Klaus, but could clearly feel his own rapid heart pounding in his chest and painful throbbing in his leg where the knife protruded.
